Rushden and Wallington Parish Council

HIGHLIGHTS 2010

Next Meeting Tuesday 28 September 2010

The next meeting is on Tuesday 28 September, at 8pm in Rushden Village Hall. PC Marina will be attending to update us on the latest local police issues and to address any concerns local residents have. The recent planning application to construct a soil bund around the grain store at Southern Green Farm will also be discussed. All members of the public are welcome to attend.

Meeting Highlights 27 January 2010

At the last meeting, the ongoing saga of blocked drains came up again, particularly in Mill End and Bennetts Lane, Rushden. Following a recent re-re-organisation and personnel change at Hertfordshire Highways, Steve Jarvis, our District Councillor, is to meet with them and try to get the Area Engineer to come out to see the problem for himself.

The annual budget has been set and the element of Council Tax required to fund the Parish Council will remain constant for a third year.

The Parish Council has asked if litter can be cleared from the A507 as it is particularly bad at the moment.

Following the  resignation of John Dingemans  from the Parish Council, there is a vacancy for a Rushden councillor. Please contact Linda Hill, Chris Garrett or Elspeth Gutteridge for further information.

The next meeting dates have been set as follows:

Wallington Parish Assembly:            13 April 2010, 8pm Wallington Village Hall

Rushden Parish Asembly:            20 April 2010, 8pm Rushden Village Hall

Annual General Meeting:            4 May 2010, 8pm Rushden Village  Hall

The Parish Assembly meetings are specific to the individual villages and are an ideal opportunity for you to come along and raise any matters of interest or concern. Please do try to come.
