Police Arrest Two For Fly Tipping

TWO MEN arrested on suspicion on fly tipping on farmland in Weston, have been released on police bail.

A 50 year old man and a 51 year old man, both from Stevenage, were arrested on suspicion of depositing controlled waste without proper licences on May 26.

They have both been bailed until July.

Rural Officer PC Paul Marina said: “Fly tipping is a serious criminal offence, as well as being anti social and damaging to the environment.

“We would urge anyone who witnesses fly tipping as it’s happening to immediately call 999.

“If you find what you suspect is fly-tipped waste, report it to the relevant local council.”

Cheap Tarmac?

Good advice given all round by the sounds of it. The old "We've just finished a job and got some tarmac left over" is an old ploy. Don't touch it with a barge pole. You will end up with a shoddy job and a demand (often with menaces) for a large sum of money on the pretence that you didn't understand the price quoted correctly and they can't take the tarmac back off your drive.
