Fiona, ready to be 'inducted

The evening of Monday 2nd June saw the Institution, Installation and Induction of a new Rector, the Rev. Fiona Karen Wheatley,  for the new Benefice of Clothall, Rushden, Sandon, Wallington and Weston.

Officiating at the church at Weston was The Rt. Revd Paul Bayes, the Bishop of Hertford and The Venerable Dr Trevor Jones, Archdeacon of Hertford.

It was a moving service liberally laced from time to time with grandeur and humour. The church was full to capacity with visiting clergy, the local Ministry Team, Church Wardens and representatives of local councils, PCC’s, the local farming community and friends and colleagues from Fiona’s previous ministry.

There was a huge choir drawn from the five parishes which sang two magnificent anthems and led a highly vocal congregation in four other stirring hymns.

Fiona, who previously held the post of Team Vicar in the Bishop’s Hatfield Team Ministry, will live in the vicarage at Sandon and will shortly be assisted by a Curate in rural training, Mary de Salis, who will live in the vicarage in Weston.
