Rushden Village Fete 21 June 2003

They say the sun shines on the righteous, so the people of Rushden must have been extra good this year judging by the fete weather. It was a real English fete with all the stalls that make for English fun. Jean presided over her plants and Joanne over bric-a-brac and several new faces were seen running other stalls. The cake stall was filled with delectable goodies, the coconut shy proved a real hit judging by someone I saw carrying three coconuts and the bottle stall had its usual queue. Sheila provided her tasty teas in the Hall and later the other Rushden's ringers rang a peal from the Church which had been decorated beautifully for the occasion. It was good to see ex Rushdenites returning, particularly Mary Glaze after her recent operation. Keep watching to see how much we raised.
