Temporary traffic management measures on various roads in Royston, Therfield, Wallington and Baldock (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MAP)

 

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14[1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-

 

1.    that length of A505 (Royston Bypass, Royston/Baldock Road, Therfield/Royston Road, Wallington/Baldock Bypass, Baldock) from its junction with the A1198 Old North Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the B656 Royston Road interchange, a distance of approximately 11800 metres.

 

2.    that length of Baldock Road, Royston from its junction with the A505 Baldock Road/ A505 Royston Bypass roundabout eastwards to its junction with Therfield Road, a distance of approximately 213 metres.

 

3.    that length of Newmarket Road, Royston from its junction with A505 Royston Bypass south westwards to its junction with the Melbourn Street/A10 Melbourn Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1436 metres.

 

4.    that length of A505 Royston Bypass, Royston from a point 430 metres east of its junction with Newmarket Road north westwards to its junction with the A10 Melbourn Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1970 metres.

 

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on that length of A505 Royston Bypass, Royston from a point 430 metres east of its junction with Newmarket Road north westwards to its junction with the A10 Melbourn Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1970 metres, when signs are in place.

 

The purpose of the Order is to enable highway maintenance works to take place.

 

It is anticipated that the temporary traffic management measures will be in place for up to 5 days, sometime during the period 20 February 2012 and 31 March 2012, when signs are in place. Alternative signed routes will be provided for traffic whilst the road closures are in place.
