INTRODUCTION LOW OCTANE VERSION HIGH PERFORMANCE VERSION GUIDE TO THE USE OF KEYPADS IN CONFERENCES

THE LOW OCTANE, ECONOMICAL HTT AUDIENCE RESPONSE SYSTEM

We have designed this to be as simple as possible. You call us and tell us how many keypads you need and we will arrange for them to be delivered to you the day before your event, or if you prefer you can arrange the collection yourself.  The Low Octane Version offers a simple program where questions can be displayed on a separate screen, flip chart, overhead or be asked from the audience.  To compliment this HTT now also offers a pre-programmed version of your questions in Microsoft's PowerPoint.  You send us the questions a week in advance and we will include your own special questions when we ship the computer to you.  How this operates can be seen on the High Performance Version page.

The equipment will arrive in cases. One of these cases will contain a laptop computer and the necessary electronics to communicate with the keypads.

To use the system:

1. Put the keypads at the places of your delegates.

2. Remove the lid of the computer equipment case.

3. Connect the equipment to the mains.

4. Place the aerial into the connector on the transmitter box.
5. Connect the computer video output to your video projector, if you plan to use one. You may want to run this through a video switcher. If you do we will be happy to advise.
6. Open the laptop computer.

7. Turn it on. The computer will "boot up".

8. You are now ready to run your interactive conference.

9. When you are ready to put a question to your audience read it out with the possible answers. (Or possibly display them on a screen)

e.g " Do you think that when you're smiling the whole world smiles with you? If you do press 1 if not press 2. Vote now"

10. Now press the "space bar" on the computer once. There will appear a "countdown" of ten seconds on the screen.
During this each individual keypad will light up with it's display showing the message "Vote now" and the delegates should make their choice by pressing the button of their choice.

11. At the end of the countdown the keypads will turn themselves off and the computer will automatically display the result of the "vote". This can then be displayed to the audience. To clear the screen ready for the next "vote" simply press the space bar again.

12. To take a further vote repeat steps 8 to 11.

13. When complete press the escape key (Esc) and the program will end and turn the keypads off. Then turn off the computer.

14. Pack up the equipment either for us to collect or you arrange its return.
