Me and Hilda, Pilgrim's Lane - 1943

Drawing, Pencil - 16in x 11in

Pilgrim's Lane was near Hilda's family home in Hampstead, where Spencer courted her. Other than Stanley, Hilda is the person seen most frequently in the drawings, which were made after their divorce in 1937. This was intended for an 'Apotheosis of Hilda' series in the 'Church House'.
